“Call of Duty: Warzone” has become one of the most played battle royale games in video games. The idea of the developers is to bring the established gameplay of Activision’s first-person shooter franchise, with fast-paced battles and accurate shooting, to a giant map. And so it faces big names like “Free Fire” and “Fortnite”. Now, with only two years of life and 125 million players, the studio is preparing the release of the sequel, “Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0”.
The game is free for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC on November 16.
Some of the new features of Warzone 2.0:
- The map is new
- Now there are water wars
- Up to three circles closing on the map
- New cars and weapons
- New Gulag; where the player goes when he dies
- “Warzone” and “Warzone 2.0” are separate experiences, with progression and purchases for each game. The original “Warzone” will remain.
Among the new features revealed is a new graphics engine, similar to the game (this is paid for) “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II”, an unknown map, called Al Mazrah, Much bigger than the first game, fight underwater. , which creates an unexpected attack plan, and more than one round closing the game’s progress.

In a battle royale, players enter online games with more than 100 people and are thrown across the map with the goal of survival. The last one standing is the winner. Usually in this type of game, there is only one circle on the map that closes, forcing the player to move to this safe place. What’s new in “Warzone 2.0”, the game can have three of these rounds, something that has never been seen in battle royale games. According to the development team, the goal is to create more fights in the game and “help” the younger players to achieve these adrenaline-filled moments.
“With this feature, we believe that players can have their moments of struggle, moments of interest, even if they are not among the best in the game. The game is not like that with this time. time, it’s still going to be exciting,” said Eric Blessman, the game’s executive director, in an interview with g1.
For Jack O’Hara, the director of the new “Warzone”, it is important to have many rounds for innovation and for players to make new plans. “You will always have your chance. You can prepare yourself again for the next battle”, he explained. “When the circles come together at the end of the game, you’ll see the survivors all converge on one point and that’s amazing.”

Dive Into Victory
Another thing that exists in the maps of the online multiplayer mode of “Call of Duty” comes for the first time in the new Warzone: underwater battles. Now it is possible to dive into the rivers of Al Mazrah to hide and defend from opponents and start an attack.
“You can dive, spot the enemy near the top of the water and attack. You can use the water to try to hide and come in by surprise,” O’Hara explained. But there is a contradiction. Underwater, the deeper the player is, the harder it is to see what is happening on the surface, and depending on the position of the enemy, he can see to the player and attack him. The physics of the game make the shot slow. With this, it is necessary to take more shots to eliminate the opponent.

The new map was built with the same idea in mind. Therefore, there are places built considering the availability of places of escape, places of conflict and, of course, places with water. This allowed the introduction of new vehicles, such as speedboats, for the player (alone or in a group) to move easily.
There is something new in the Gulag. This is where players who are eliminated from the game get a second chance to get back into the game. For this, it is necessary to defeat the opponent who appears on the field. Now, you can team up with another person for doubles play.
The changes are expected to bring innovation to the battle royale and multiplayer modes. Now, if the public will accept the news and continue to play “Warzone”, we will not know until the beginning of November.
