Corinthians and Flamengo met the leaders of the Copa do Brasil decision, this Tuesday morning. The CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) held at its headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, the draw that defined the champions of each game. Timão will play the first match at home, while the Carioca team will decide at Maracanã. Midfielder Diego went to the club and talked about the strength of the alvinegra team.
“I believe that Corinthians is a strong, stable and very stable team. So we have to be careful about that. It’s a solid team and thegoal, to achieve the goal. We have to be careful”, said Diego in a press conference shortly after the draw ended.
Corineto beat Flamengo this season, for the Brasileirão, playing at the Neo Química Arena, with a score of 1 to 0. On the other hand, for the Libertadores, the team from Rio de Janeiro was better, eliminating Timão from the competition. The two teams met in the quarterfinals, with Flamenguistas winning both games and advancing to the semifinals.
Both teams have already won the Copa do Brasil three times. O Corinth become a champion at 1995, 2002 and 2009Flamengo lifted the cup in the 1990, 2006 and 2013. Whoever comes out with the title will be fourth and equal with Palmeiras, who have won the competition four times.
The first match of the decision is scheduled for October 12, at 21:30, at Neo Química Arena. The final and decisive game was a week later, on the 19th, at Maracanã, at the same time.
